Custom Machinery and Equipment

Direct designs and builds custom industrial machinery around your process, equipment, space, and operating requirements when standard solutions don’t fit the job.

Why Direct

Built Around the Work It Needs to Do

Custom machinery starts with a process, task, or equipment challenge that standard solutions can’t solve well. Direct works from those requirements to develop a custom machine around how the equipment needs to operate, fit the available space, and support the people using it every day.

Our Capabilities

From Concept to Working Equipment

As a custom machine builder, Direct develops specialty machinery, production equipment, custom frames, and integrated assemblies to match the task, footprint, operating environment, and application requirements.

Custom Machine Design and Engineering

The machine design starts with the process requirements, available footprint, operating loads, and how the equipment will be used. Those inputs guide the machine layout, structural design, guarding, access points, and service clearances as the concept develops.

Machine Frames, Bases, and Guarding

Frames, bases, guarding, and supporting structures are fabricated around the machine design and the loads they need to carry. Mounting points, equipment interfaces, access, and structural requirements are coordinated so the finished assembly supports installation, operation, and maintenance.

Mechanical Assembly and Equipment Integration

Mechanical components and purchased equipment are fitted and assembled as the machine takes shape. Equipment placement, alignment, mounting interfaces, access, and service requirements are coordinated throughout assembly so the completed machine functions as one integrated system.

Electrical and Controls System Integration

Electrical and control components are coordinated with the physical machine during the build. Control panels, sensors, drives, cable routing, and connection points are planned around the equipment so the system is prepared for controls integration, testing, and commissioning.

PURPOSE-BUILT EQUIPMENT

Design the Equipment Around the Job

When machinery is developed for the actual application, teams don’t have to adapt the process to fit a standard solution. The footprint, access, safety, and operating requirements can instead be considered as part of the equipment from the beginning.

Match the Application

Custom equipment is designed around the task, space, product, loads, and operating requirements instead of forcing a standard machine to fit.

Improve Safety and Access

Guarding, loading points, working positions, and service access are planned around how operators and maintenance teams use equipment.

Reduce Manual Work

Purpose-built machinery can automate repetitive or difficult tasks, helping improve consistency and reduce manual handling.
